Treatment Overview: How CyberKnife Technology Treats Brain Tumors
CyberKnife® technology delivers pinpoint high-dose radiation to tumors in five or fewer outpatient procedures. During treatment, you will lay on a treatment table while the CyberKnife’s robotic arm moves around you delivering very focused radiation to your tumor without ever touching you. The cumulative dose of radiation kills tumor cells while minimizing exposure to the surrounding healthy tissue.
Most patients return to their normal routines immediately after CyberKnife treatment. There may be side effects, such as fatigue, but these are usually minor and temporary.
