Reno CyberKnife Recognizes Six Years of Advancing Cancer Care in Northern Nevada
Reno CyberKnife physicians and staff continue to improve patient care and contribute innovative research on the applications of stereotactic body radiation therapy. This month marks six years of operations for our center, and we remain the only CyberKnife treatment provider in Northern Nevada.
We celebrated a number of milestones this year including:
- Treatment of our 1,000th patient
- Inclusion of stereotactic body radiation as a treatment option for prostate cancer in the National Comprehensive Cancer Network’s Clinical Practice Guidelines in Oncology®.
- Implementation of a lung nodule tumor board with hospital partner Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center to collaborate and evaluate each patient’s diagnostic images and medical history to provide guidance on the best course of treatment for their individual diagnosis. Participation from multiple disciplines helps to improve quality of care for patients facing a lung cancer diagnosis.
- Participation in a number of community health events including Senior Fest, Saint Mary’s Lung and Prostate Cancer Community events, Cancer Warriors of Central Nevada, American Cancer Society’s Suits and Sneakers and various health fairs throughout the region.
We are proud to be a member of the Reno cancer care community and look forward to continuing to serve our patients and their families!
