Reno CyberKnife Celebrates Five Years at Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center

Each year our physicians and staff continue to improve patient care and contribute innovative research on applications of stereotactic body radiation therapy.

We celebrated a number of milestones this year including:

• The endorsement of SBRT as a primary option for prostate cancer treatment by the American Society of Radiation Oncology.

• Dr. Katie Legarza was named co-medical director of Reno CyberKnife.

• Participation in a number of community health events including the Douglas County Health Fair, Mom’s on the Run, Senior Fest, Patient Safety Awareness Week and Men’s Health Month.

• Reno Cyberknife was voted “Best in Technology: Innovation” by the readers of the Reno News and Review for 2013.

• Together with Saint Mary’s, we worked to offer patients a multidisciplinary approach to cancer care by working closely with cancer specialists from our network to provide comprehensive overviews of treatment options.
