Moms on the Run

On Sunday, May 8, several women from Reno CyberKnife and Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center spent Mother’s Day participating in the Moms on the Run 5/10K.

The 16th annual race was held at the Reno High School Foster Field in Reno, Nevada and raised money to assist local patients during their cancer treatment.

Moms on the Run is a 501-c3 non-profit organization created by residents of the Reno community.  They raise funds to help cover everyday living expenses of northern Nevada families enduring hardships caused by a catastrophic circumstance, with a primary focus on assisting individuals with breast and gynecological cancers, and their families.

Every Mother’s Day they host a 5K & 10K run and 3K & 5K walk, a Bon Bon Stroll, and a Kidlets Race.  The event has grown to become a distinctive and fun family-oriented event with individual and team fundraising opportunities.

Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center participated in the event with a booth and a team of 64 men and women including, Lacie Bourland, Administrator for Reno CyberKnife, who ran the 5K.  This is the third year that Reno CyberKnife participated in partnership with Saint Mary’s and we look forward to many more races in our future!  Moms on the Run is a wonderful organization that raises money for cancer patients in our community and we were honored to be a part of such an important event!
