Lung Cancer Awareness Month

Lung Cancer Awareness Month is celebrated each November to raise awareness for the second most common cancer in both men and women. The American Cancer Society estimates 1,970 new cases of lung cancer will be diagnosed in Nevada this year.

Below are a few ways to support the fight against lung cancer:

  • Get Support: Reno CyberKnife’s hospital partner St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center hosts an American Cancer Society Cancer Resource Center for patients to learn about area resources and support groups. For more information, click here.
  • Learn About Lung Cancer. Early detection is crucial to determining the best treatment method for a diagnosis. Consulting with a doctor and learning the signs and symptoms of lung cancer can help families be prepared if at risk for developing the disease. Read more about lung cancer in our center’s lung cancer blog series.

Reno CyberKnife treats lung tumors with stereotactic body radiation therapy using CyberKnife® technology. Read more about the treatment here.
